A charity home in Ellenbrook is almost at lock-up as builders and tradespeople lend a hand.
Working flat-out to keep up with WA's building boom didn't deter these builders and tradespeople from volunteering their sapre time to help raise funds for Telethon. After giving up countless weekends to build the 2006 Metropolitan Telethion Home, the team is thrilled to see the two-storey dwelling is almost at lock-up.
Roof carpenter David Matsen, 26, is just one of the people who chipped in so far.
"I did it for the kids", he says.
"To date, we've had fantastic support from Midland Brick, Monier CSR, Boral Concrete, Boral Windows, Delta Ceilings, panters and numerous other suppliers who have pledged to help us complete the home", he says.
A team of trainee bricklayers, under the guidance of In-Vogue's bricklaying supervisor Rod Anderson, has also put in a fair bit of elbow grease. "The trainees have been with In-Vogue for 14 months and it's been a major project for them to work on this prestigious home", Mr Ilias says.
The Metropolitan Telethon Home, at Charlotts's Vineyard, Ellenbrook, is expected to be open for public inspection in the first week of September.
"This is thanks to the phenomenal commercial and community support In-Vogue Living has recieved since signing on to build it", JWH Group managing director Julian Walter says.
